The event is one of many hosted by the Society in order to bring the benefactors, members, friends and family of the Society together.
Being held on Independence Day this year, the event seemed to have somewhat outgrown the venue as more and more persons came out to enjoy an afternoon of tea, fashion, talent and socialising.
Patrons were treated to a delicious tea plate of Indian and Creole delicacies, in addition to some delicious pastries. Punches and local drinks, as well as tea and coffee were served to complement the tea plates.
After tea, all were invited to sit and enjoy the entertainment package put together by the organisers. Emcee Ann Vidale made no delay in starting the show as she introduced the wide repertoire of entertainers, which included John Agitation and the Shiv Shakti Dancers.
Sumintra Deokali, a staff member of the SVP Secretariat was presented with an award for 25 years of dedicated service to the Society. Following this patrons were able to claim door prizes, which included food and cosmetic hampers as well as dinner for two at the Kapok Hotel.
