The Society of St Vincent de Paul hosted its Annual Rally and Family Fun Day on Sunday, August 19, at the Mucurapo Junior Secondary School Compound.
The main objective of the Rally was to encourage members of the society, at Conference, Council and National levels to participate in a day of fun activities together.

Members were also encouraged to invite the families they assisted to this day of fun, entertainment and camaraderie.
This year the Society celebrates 150 years of faith, fellowship and service to God’s people in Trinidad and Tobago and the Fun Day and Rally highlighted many achievements of the Society to date.
The day’s activities commenced a little after 9:30 a.m. with a Eucharistic Service celebrated by Lay Ministers of the Cathedral. Following this was the March Past competition where Conferences got a chance to showcase their creativity. Oh what creativity abounds in our Trini people.
This year Councillor Peter John coupled with Councillors Cynthia Piper and Denise Aleong Thomas adjudicated at the competition. The Audrey Mollineau Half-Way House placed third, St Mary’s, St James came in second and the winners of the March Past 2007 were, Corpus Christi, Laventille.
After the March Past families sat down to a hearty lunch and during this time, teams were allowed to “gear up” for the fun activities scheduled for the afternoon.
A wonderful display of Ballroom Dancing, an All Fours Competition – young and old, getting in on the action, a Talent Show hosted by Gerard Lam Pow, Pan ‘round de neck, were just some of the fun activities that had everyone getting involved.
This was truly a day filled with excitement and activities for the entire family. Thank you to the coordinators who did a fantastic job. |
